Description
Bighorn Sheep Canyon, between Salida and Canon City, Colorado, is one of the milder sections of the Arkansas River. Family rafting trips are popular in this section of the river, not only because of the mild waters but also because bighorn sheep frequently come down to the river to drink. These two bighorn sheep were part of a flock of about half a dozen bighorns of different ages and sexes.
