BAMBI BEAUTY by PRISCILLA BURGERS
A beautiful mule deer seemed to be posing for me near Maxwell National Wildlife Refuge in northern New Mexico. . Both mule deer and white-tailed deer are resident mammals at Maxwell. Mule deer and white-tailed deer are closely related cousins. Mule deer are larger in body size than white-tailed deer and have large, mule-like ears. Whitetails have white colored fur under their tails; mule deer have white tails with black tips.
