Description
This image is of the Mission San Jose Church in San Antonio,Texas. One of several crosses is viewed through double arches. Built in 1720, it is the largest and best known of the Texas missions. The size of the mission complex earned it the title "Queen of the Missions." The beautiful church building is known for its unique architecture. The mission residents learned to use firearms to fend off Comanche and Apache raids. Their skill, plus massive stone walls, discouraged enemy attacks. Mission San Jose is part of the San Antonio Missions National Historic Park.

Fantastic composition, Priscilla. Love the way the arch in the foreground frames both the second arch and the cross on top of the church! f/l/tw

Wonderful composition; love the double arch and how it brings the eye up to the cross. Beautifully scene and photographed.
