DAYS END AT THE CIMARRON MOUNTAINS by PRISCILLA BURGERS
The Cimarron Range, locally referred to as the Cimarrons, is a group of peaks in southwestern Colorado, a subrange of the San Juan Mountain Range. They are within eastern Ouray County and are oriented north-south. The highest peak in the Cimarrons is Mt Baldy, at 12,441 feet. The original True Grit movie was filmed in the Cimarrons, as well as in nearby Ridgway and other close locations.
