Description
Followers of The Hunger Games movie might recognize this building. This is a two-story brick company building at deserted Henry River Mill Village, near Catawba, North Carolina. The 72-acre village was the filming location of many scenes of the 2012 film, The Hunger Games, known in the film as District 12. The building originally served as a store and mill office, with the upper floor used as a school room and for church services from 1907-1917. The mill had produced fine combed cotton yarn for use in making lace.
