Description
The 66 Diner in Old Town, Albuquerque was originally located in an old Route 66 gas station. When the building burned down, it was rebuilt as seen in this image. Burma Shave style signs attract hungry travelers. The side of the building next door is covered with vintage signs. This 50's style diner on Historic Route 66 features burgers, blue plate specials and what they claim to be Albuquerque's best milkshakes. The interior is full of Route 66 memorabilia, including waitresses that look like they walked out of the 50's and photo's of 50's singers and movie stars. This much photographed, internationally known restaurant is a hit with locals and tourists alike. You're sure to "get your kicks" at the 66 Diner.
