Description
"Fishing at Cuyahoga Falls" was photographed at the LeFever Powerhouse Dam at Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio by my husband, Neal. Native Americans called the winding water "Cuyahoga," which means "crooked river" in an Iroquoian language. The City was named after the falls located there. This dam was built in 1914 to power the Walsh Paper Company. Neal chose to give the image a vintage effect in keeping with the time period of the dam's construction. He captured this image in June of 2013, just two months before the dam was removed to restore the river to its natural state. The removal goals were to improve water quality and provide new recreational opportunities
