Description
Sun-dappled bald cypress trees cast their reflections in the Medina River in the Alsace community of Castroville, Texas. Founded in 1844 by Henri Castro, peaceful Castroville lies just fifteen miles west of bustling San Antonio. Known as "The Little Alsace of Texas", this truly Texas town has comingled its Alsatian heritage with the charm of the American rural west. Located in the southwest part of Castroville, the Castroville Regional Park consists of 126 wooded acres on the Medina River. This is a lovely place to picnic, fish, walk or just enjoy the peace and beauty of the Medina River.
