Description
RODEO GATE KEEPER by PRISCILLA BURGERS
A young cowboy takes his role of controlling the gate at the Cottonwood High School Rodeo very seriously as the steer gets a little too close. This was the first Arizona High School Rodeo Association rodeo held in Cottonwood, Arizona.
The purpose of the Arizona High School Rodeo Association (AHSRA) and Az Junior High School Rodeo Associathin (AJHSRA ) is to promote high school and junior high rodeo on a statewide scale and work towards bringing statewide recognition to the sport of Rodeo. Both organizations strive to promote professional conduct and good sportsmanship at various rodeos events. Their mission is to offer kids in grades 6 through 12 a chance to be competitive student athletes at the highest level of competition in their region, across Arizona and on a national level for championships and thousands of dollars in scholarships. They also encourage students to continue in school and to improve their scholastic achievement through the high standards it holds for its members as students in the classroom and sportsmen in the arena.
