Rising storm clouds over Lizard Head Wilderness created a dramatic, sun-lit backdrop for this digital painting of a beautiful, rustic ranch on Dunton Road in southwest Colorado. Wildflowers in the foreground, fed by summer monsoon rains, were growing along Meadow Creek. Photographed from the other side of the ranch on a clear day, one would be able to see the 14,000-foot peaks surrounding Trout Lake as a backdrop. This is country I never tire of!

I was born and raised in the Metropolitan New York City area of New Jersey but have lived in Arizona for forty years. After retiring from high school counseling and teaching, I discovered the joy of photography and digital art. Although I strive to get the shot right in the camera, I enjoy the artistic and creative aspects of working with image editing programs.
