I know this lake. Drove up there from Placerville thinking about finding a location to paint another large landscape painting. Don't recall now why I decided not to paint it. But you must know Telluride and isn't that a scenic drive between Placerville and Telluride? Drove down to Norwood and saw a deer separated from its mother and grabbed it and lifted it over to the other side of the fence it was trying to poke its head through. Its mother just jumped the fence. That was south of Norwood. That wasn't as great a view as Mt. Wilson but where else do you have a lake in the area with the mountain reflected on it that is easy to get to as Woods Lake, not many, though I did paint at Trout Lake south of Telluride. Nobody else was at that campground at Woods Lake either. Nice fall colors and reflection. Remember it though if it weren't for the name might have forgotten it.

Thanks for the story! I love that area. When I do to the San Juan Mts., I feel like I'm going home.

Priscilla, Great scenic image with that great sky image signaling the beginning of a possible storm and the gorgeous lake and trees in the foreground LF
