Description
THE LESSON IN BLACK AND WHITE by PRISCILLA BURGERS
A woman instructs her son in the safe handling of a gun at a Single Action Shooting Event in Arizona. The Single Action Shooting Society (SASS) is an international organization formed in 1987 to preserve and promote the sport of Cowboy Action Shooting. Members share a common interest in preserving the history of the Old West and competitive shooting in a safe, fun, and family-friendly environment.
In keeping with the time period of the western cowboy attire, I digitally processed this image to make it look like a Wet Plate image. Wet Plate (also known as the Collodian Process) was one of the earliest photographic processes. It used a glass negative that required the photographer to apply the sensitizer, take the shot and develop in the field within minutes.
This image is also available in color my Arizona gallery.
The Fine Art America logo will not appear on your finished product.
