Description
VINTAGE WATER TRUCK IN BLACK AND WHITE by PRISCILLA BURGERS
The original water truck used at the Nella-Meda Gold Mining Camp now slowly rusts at Robson's Mining World. Robson's Mining World is a step back in time at the site of the Nella-Meda Gold Mining Camp. The mine sits in a notch in the Sonoran Desert's saguaro-covered hills near Aguila, Arizona. The building in the background is a restored trainmaster's house, originally located in Aquila in the early 1900's. (At that time Aguila was called 'Eagle", English for the Spanish word Aguila.) The trainmaster operated the Santa Fe Depot. Robson's Mining World is now home to thousands of pieces of antique equipment and 26 artifact-filled buildings. It is a fascinating place to visit. I digitally processed this image to resemble the Calotype process. Calotype or talbotype is an early photographic process introduced in 1841 by William Henry Fox Talbot using paper coated with silver iodide. This image is also available in color.
