Description
Image is the West Arlington Covered Bridge spanning the Battenkill River. This bridge is one of Vermont's most photographed and painted covered bridges. Dating to 1852, the picturesque red bridge is located on the town green near the former home of painter Norman Rockwell, which is now the Inn on Covered Bridge Green. The bridge is on the National Register of Historic Places. It was damaged by Hurricane Irene in 2011 but was repaired and reopened within a few months. Trees in fall color add interest to the scene.
