Artist's Description
Image is a digital painting of Pine Run Grist Mill. A millstone, the millrace, and magnolia flowers add interest to the scene. This mill was purchased from J.T. Lefler, owner of the Pine Run Mill in Hillsville, Virginia, and was moved to the campus of Life University in Marietta, Georgia It had been converted to run on power from an automobile engine, but has been restored to its original water powered specifications. It is now part of a "pioneer village" which has been developed on the campus and is located on the site of the Sewell Mill which was built in the 1830's. The mill, which includes the mill stones, wooden gears, and the building itself was last operated 50 years ago. Since its reconstruction at Life University, the mill is once again grinding corn meal and grits as it was in its early beginning.

About Priscilla Burgers
I was born and raised in the Metropolitan New York City area of New Jersey but have lived in Arizona for forty years. After retiring from high school counseling and teaching, I discovered the joy of photography and digital art. Although I strive to get the shot right in the camera, I enjoy the artistic and creative aspects of working with image editing programs. Capturing the beauty of God's creation with landscape photography was my first passion. I thank God for his creations and that I am fortunate enough to see and capture a part of them with my camera. The rich color is perfect for this scene that looks to be deep into a forest or at least woods :) So pretty and the inclusion of the old millstone is very nice.
