"ACADIA NATIONAL PARK SUNRISE" by PRISCILLA BURGERS
This image was photographed from the top of Cadillac Mountain. Of Acadia's numerous peaks, this one is the most grand. At 1,530 feet, the summit is the highest point on the U.S. East Coast and is easily reached by car via a winding 3.5-mile paved road with several overlooks. Topside it provides 360-degree views of the park and surrounding waters. The open terrain is covered with photogenic collections of shrubs and impressive lichen-decorated slabs of pink granite. Acadia is especially beautiful with fall color, as seen here.

I was born and raised in the Metropolitan New York City area of New Jersey but have lived in Arizona for forty years. After retiring from high school counseling and teaching, I discovered the joy of photography and digital art. Although I strive to get the shot right in the camera, I enjoy the artistic and creative aspects of working with image editing programs. Capturing the beauty of God's creation with landscape photography was my first passion. I thank God for his creations and that I am fortunate enough to see and capture a part of them with my camera.
