Description
NELIGH MILL by PRISCILLA BURGERS
Neligh Mill, built in 1873, is the only nineteenth century flour mill in Nebraska with all of its original equipment intact. The mill building itself consists of three floors and a basement that are accessible by stairs. Display panels located on each floor explain machinery location and give a general overview of the activities carried out in that area. The mill complex includes the main mill building , the elevators, and the office. All are open to the public. Construction of the brick mill building was started ty the town's founder, John D. Neligh, but W.C.Gallaway, an early Neligh businessman, assumed ownership and saw to it's completion. The mill is seen here reflected in the Elkhorn River.
