A Ford pickup truck rusts in peace near the entrance to the mining ghost town of Ruby, Arizona. Ruby was a highly productive mining community in southern Arizona, about four miles from the Mexican border. The mine yielded about ten million dollars in 1920's to 1930's dollars from lead, gold, silver, and tungsten. When the mine closed, miners left with most of the houses that were not adobe. A few remaining buildings are being stabilized or restored.

I was born and raised in the Metropolitan New York City area of New Jersey but have lived in Arizona for forty years. After retiring from high school counseling and teaching, I discovered the joy of photography and digital art. Although I strive to get the shot right in the camera, I enjoy the artistic and creative aspects of working with image editing programs.
