PAUSE REST WORSHIP CHURCH by PRISCILLA BURGERS

A sign along a highway in southwest Arizona invites travelers to pause, rest and worship in a nearby diminutive church. The church contains six mini pews and a welcome register and Bible on the pulpit. A cross atop a hill in the background repeats the cross on the church steeple. Beautiful flowering bushes greet worshipers as they enter. This lovely, diminutive church was built in 1995 in honor of farmer Loren Pratt’s deceased wife.

I was born and raised in the Metropolitan New York City area of New Jersey but have lived in Arizona for forty years. After retiring from high school counseling and teaching, I discovered the joy of photography and digital art. Although I strive to get the shot right in the camera, I enjoy the artistic and creative aspects of working with image editing programs.
