Description
ROCKY HILL STATION by PRISCILLA BURGERS
Once a coal drop off point for the Louisville and Nashville railroads, the old town of Rocky Hill, Kentucky was once a thriving town with a population in the thousands. It had two hotels, a livery stable, a general store, a train station, and a bank. Half of the town was destroyed in the 1930's by fire. The residents of the town moved away and even though the town was rebuilt, most of the residents never returned and the railroad stopped dropping off coal. This train station is one of only three early train stations still surviving in the state of Kentucky.
