Artist's Description
*** 2 TIME CONTEST WINNER ***
This buck mule deer showed interest in me but no sign of concern. Living in the Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge, he must sense that humans are not predators. This image is also available in sepia.
Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge is one of the largest urban refuges in the country. Located just northeast of Denver, Rocky Mountain Arsenal is a 15,000-acre expanse of prairie, wetland and woodland habitat. It has transitioned from farmland, to war-time manufacturing site, to wildlife sanctuary. The refuge is a sanctuary for more than 330 species of animals, including bison, deer, coyotes, bald eagles and burrowing owls.

I have also come to enjoy many other facets of photography, such as wildlife, American Western, farm, church, and ghost town photography. I take great pleasure in traveling and...
